The MCP connector lets an authorized AI chat app use GigJack tools in one band or artist workspace. MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. On the connections page you see the apps you authorized, their permissions and activity, and choose which tool groups each app can use.
Use at your own risk
You connect an AI app and use the MCP connector at your own risk. The AI app and its model provider are third parties with their own terms and privacy practices, and GigJack does not control them. GigJack is not responsible for what an AI app does with the access you approve, for the changes it makes to your gigs, rehearsals, events, tasks, venues and contacts, or for how the app and its provider store or use the data they receive from GigJack.
An AI app can misread a request or follow instructions in the content it reads. Review the changes it proposes before you approve them. To limit what a connection can do, approve View planning instead of View and change planning, or turn off Tool groups it does not need. See the Terms and Conditions, sections 8 and 12, for the terms that apply.
Open MCP connector
- Open Settings from the settings menu.
- Under Integrations and connectors, select MCP connector.
You manage your own connections, across your bands and artist workspaces. Every signed-in member can open this page. Changing the workspace you are viewing in GigJack does not change the workspace an existing connection can access.
Set up a new connection
Start in the AI app you want to connect. It must support a remote MCP server with Streamable HTTP and browser-based OAuth authorization. Compatible apps can identify or register themselves automatically when GigJack has that option enabled. Other clients need connection details supplied for an app registered with GigJack. Contact GigJack support if your setup needs those details or automatic registration is not enabled.
| Client setting | Value | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Server address | https://app.gigjack.com/api/mcp | The GigJack MCP server. Use the full address. |
| Transport | Streamable HTTP | Connects to the remote server over HTTPS. |
| Authorization | OAuth | Opens GigJack in your browser to sign in and approve the connection. |
| Client details, if requested | The client ID and, where applicable, client secret supplied for your app. | Identifies the AI app. Apps that register automatically handle these details themselves. A public client does not use a client secret. |
The names of these settings depend on the AI app. Follow its remote MCP setup flow, then:
- Start the connection in the AI app and sign in to GigJack when the browser opens.
- On Authorize an application, check the application name, Signed in as, Return to and the requested permissions.
- Choose the Workspace the app may access: an active band where you are an approved member, or your own active artist workspace.
- Select Approve to return to the AI app, or Deny to decline.
- Open MCP connector in GigJack to review the connection and set its tool groups.
Unverified applications
Automatically identified or registered apps are marked Unverified, because their names are supplied by the apps themselves. The authorization page may also show the publisher's host. When an unverified app uses a return address on your device, the page explains that other software on the same device could claim to be that app. Approve only a connection you started yourself.
A connection belongs to one workspace. Authorize another connection to use a different workspace. The connections page does not create new connections or issue client credentials.
Authorized applications
Each row is one unexpired connection you approved and have not disconnected. Expired or disconnected connections are no longer listed. Select the arrow at the start of a row to show or hide its endpoint and tool settings. On a phone, scroll the table sideways to see all columns. Load more shows further connections.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Application | The client name and the date and time you approved this connection. Unverified marks an app whose name has not been verified by GigJack. |
| Workspace | The band or artist workspace this connection can access. |
| Grants | The permissions you approved during authorization, described below. |
| Available tools | The tool groups enabled for this connection. |
| Activity | The recorded tool-call count and time of the last tool call. Calls that reach a tool count even when the action does not complete. Refreshing the tool list does not count. Earlier activity is not reconstructed. |
| Expires | When the connection ends. Connections last up to 30 days after approval; using them does not extend that date. |
| Actions | Disconnect revokes this connection. |
Tool groups
Expand an application's row, choose its Tool groups and select Save tools. All six groups are enabled initially. Uncheck a group to remove those tools from that connection. Uncheck every group to leave the connection authorized without any tools.
| Setting | Tools in the group | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Gigs | List, view, create and update gigs. | Enabled |
| Rehearsals | List, view, create and update rehearsals. | Enabled |
| Events | List, view, create and update band events. | Enabled |
| Tasks | List, create and update tasks. | Enabled |
| Venues | Search, view, create and update venues, link contacts and choose a primary contact. | Enabled |
| Contacts | Search, view, create and update contacts, and add contact notes. | Enabled |
Saved changes apply to the app's next request. Refresh the tool list in the AI app if it still shows older choices. Changing tool groups does not add permissions to the grants you approved.
Grants
| Grant | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Connect | Establishes the connection. By itself it does not grant access to workspace data. |
| View planning | Reads gigs, rehearsals, events, tasks, venues and contacts, within the enabled tool groups. |
| View and change planning | Reads, creates and updates the same resources, within the enabled groups and your role's permissions. |
| Offline access | Lets the app renew its access without signing in again, until the connection expires. It does not make GigJack data available without an internet connection. |
Access tokens last up to 15 minutes. With Offline access, the AI app can renew them until the connection expires. Without that grant, a new authorization is needed when access expires.
A listed tool can only run when both the connection's grants and your current workspace role allow it. Enabling a group does not turn a viewing grant into permission to change data. To approve additional permissions, start a new authorization from the AI app.
These tools do not provide gig deal finances, bank details or tax identifiers, and do not offer delete actions. Changes can notify members in the same way as changes made in GigJack.
Disconnect
Select Disconnect on the application's row and confirm to revoke that connection. The app must be authorized again to reconnect. Disconnecting one row does not revoke other connections for the same app.
Signing out of GigJack in your browser does not disconnect authorized apps. Losing access to a workspace stops the app from accessing its data, but you can still disconnect your own connection from this page.
